Manuel Trujillo has been apart for the CrossFit Loveland family since 2013. The community and team in addition with the competitive nature made him feel right at home. Having an athletic background growing up and playing college football at Adams State, Manuel always had a strong desire to share his athletic and strength experience with any and everyone. He played football, wrestled, and ran track all 4 years in high school, receiving all state athletic honors while also receiving male athlete of the year at his high school.

He has been a coach here at CrossFit Loveland since 2014 and has enjoyed digging through the latest information on anything related to health, nutrition, and exercise. He received his Crossfit level one certificate and is head coach and head of programming at Crossfit Loveland.  He is currently working on many more certs including his CF level 2.

Ever since his younger days, Manuel always had a strong desire to help individuals and athletes achieve their goals. Once given the opportunity to live out his dream, he hopes to take it and run with it, implementing his own ideas and beliefs for creating strong, healthy, functional athletes. It's never been about aesthetics but more about making people the best version of themselves.

While he is not coaching his favorite athletes at CFL, he spends his off time creating memories with friends going camping, fishing, hiking, attending professional sport games, and of course eating at all the local diners. He is a proud father of his 6 year old pit bull Koda, and an amazing uncle to his dog niece Mila and dog nephew Rufus.  He also, serves as a great role model to all the toddlers at the gym and has been identified by some as "Uncle Manny".

Ryan has been an athlete ever since he was old enough to be enrolled in organized sports. Once he was finally old enough to play football, they realized it was a better fit for his clumsiness than soccer. He could fall down and look like it was supposed to happen! Football became his passion. He played offensive and defensive line in high school, and earned a scholarship to play for the University of Nebraska at Kearney as an offensive tackle.

Once football was over, he decided that he needed to give up the awesome lifestyle of eating anything and everything just to maintain a playing weight of close to 300 pounds. He spent YEARS after football was over (six to be exact) trying to find the "right fit" for a workout program, with no real luck. Ryan was sick of his 30-minute-cardio-followed-by-a-little-bit-of-lifting routine. He was not seeing results. While training for a big obstacle event in 2012, a friend of his casually asked if he had heard of CrossFit. He hadn't, so he decided to give CrossFit Loveland a shot. Ryan was hooked! With his athletic background, this is what he needed. After doing CrossFit for about a year, Ryan became a coach. He wanted to share the thing he loved, that had changed his life with others, and wanted to be a part of something bigger.  He loves watching lives change right before his eyes!

Ryan is passionate about helping people reach their goals, whatever they may be! He loves the new athlete, and he loves the competitor. He was asked once by a fellow athlete, "If you're not training for competition, then WHAT are you training for?" His answer: "To be a better father and husband." He truly believes in helping you become the best version of you that you can become, whatever that may be!

Along with the encouraging community of people, it was the variety of movements (weightlifting, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning) that kept him challenged, intrigued and coming back for more.

As a full-time working mom of 3 kids- it was challenging for Jen to remember to take care of herself.  Crossfit has given her the perfect avenue to do this.  Being involved in athletics is something she has done for as long as she can remember.  Throughout her school years she competed in gymnastics, swimming, and running.  After she stopped competing herself, Jen coached gymnastics and track.

In 2001, she & Dirk packed up and moved from Ohio to Colorado to pursue their dream of living life out loud.  They wanted to live in a place where they could play outdoors any time of year.  As avid hikers, campers, and skiers Colorado was their dream destination.  Now as an owner & trainer at Crossfit Loveland she can help others reach their goals of health & fitness and being able to physically & mentally chase their life’s dreams as well.

As a middle school teacher with a master’s degree in educational administration, she has worked closely with both teachers and students for the past 20 years.  One of the things that Jen loves about teaching is challenging her students, getting them to work hard, and helping them build their confidence and their belief in themselves.  As an owner & trainer at Crossfit Loveland- she has an opportunity to do this with the athletes.

Jen & her husband, Dirk, have 3 children- a 10 year old son & 7 year old boy, girl twins.  In 2015, she joined Crossfit Loveland and it changed her life.  The variety of the movements in Crossfit allow her to train and not end up injured.  Jen is also passionate about researching nutrition.  If this is a journey you would like to embark on, she would love to support, encourage and share information and resources with you.   She has also been able to connect with the incredible community.  Jen has learned so much about herself through Crossfit- both mental strength and physical strength.  She’s been able to have amazing conversations with her kids about grit and working hard even when it’s tough and you want to quit.  They get to see their mom give it all physically and mentally to reach her goals.  Jen’s not training to be in the Crossfit Games- she’s training to participate in her life, to chase her kids, to play hard, and to be healthy and strong…. To live life out loud!

Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a man…  C’mon, anybody?  That Rolling Stones song?  Okay, so now you know his age, what about his name?  Dirk moved to Colorado in 2001 with his wife Jen to open a music school.  Check!  (there are 3 locations) to camp, ski, hike; check, check and check.   Dirk has taught piano and guitar for over 30 years and now is spreading his wings with helping people reach their fitness goals.  As a younger athlete he was a baseball player.  From tee-ball through high school, baseball was his sport of choice.  Once college came he started playing racquetball and began moving up the ranks until ranked no. 2 in the state of Ohio.

Dirk started crossfit in 2015 and realized almost immediately how it can change your life for the better.  With all the different moves, lifts, and expectations he was stronger, faster, and healthier than he ever thought possible.  Now, Dirk is taking his athletic experience, business expertise, teaching knowledge, and desire to help others reach their fitness goals, and putting them all together as one of the owners of Crossfit Loveland.
