Jen Kraus: co-owner

As a full-time working mom of 3 kids- it has been challenging to remember to take care of me. Crossfit has given me the perfect avenue to do this. Being invlolved in athletics is something I have done for as long as I can remember. Throughout my school years I participated in gymnastics, swimming, and running. After I stopped competing myself, I coached gymnastics for a number of years and then coached track my first few years teaching.

In 2001, Dirk & I packed up and moved from Ohio to Colorado to pursue our dream of living life out loud. We wanted to live in a place where we could play outdoors any time of year. As avid hikers, campers, and skiers Colorado was our dream destination. Now as an owner of Crossfit Loveland I now can help others reach their goals of health & fitness and being able to physically & mentally chase their life's dreams as well.

As a middle school teacher with a master's degree in educational administration, I have worked closely with both teachers and students for the past 20 years. One of the things that I love about teaching is challenging my students, getting them to work hard, and helping them build their confidence and their belief in themselves. As an owner of Crossfit Loveland- I have an opportunity to do this with our athletes.

My husband, Dirk, & I have 3 children- a 10 year old son & 7 year old boy, girl twins. In 2015, I joined Crossfit Loveland and it has changed my life. I used to run for exercise and I was frequently injured and then not able to train like I wanted to. The variety of the movements in Crossfit allow me to train and not end up injured. I have also been able to connect with our incredible community. The athletes I get to train with are an amazing group of people. I have learned so much about myself through Crossfit- both mental strength and physical strength. I've been able to have amazing conversations with my kids about grit and working hard even when it's tough and you want to quit. They get to see their mom give it all physically and mentally to reach her goals. I'm not training to be in the Crossfit Games- I'm training to participate in my life, to chase my kids, to play hard, and to be healthy and strong... To live life out loud!

Dirk Kraus - Co-owner

Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man... C'mon, anybody? That Rolling Stones song? Okay, so now you know my age, what about my name. My name is Dirk. I moved to Colorado in 2001 with my wife Jen to open a music school. Check! (we now have 3 locations) To camp, ski, hike; check, check and check. I have taught piano and guitar for over 30 years and now I am spreading my wings with helping people reach their fitness goals. I started Crossfit in 2015 and realized almost immediately how it can change your life for the better. With all the different moves, lifts, and expectations I was stronger, faster and healthier before I could worry about being sore. Now, I am taking my business experience, my teaching knowledge, and my desire to help others and putting them all together as owner of Crossfit Loveland.

Now matter your fitness goals, Crossfit is fantastic "fit" for you. I do Crossfit so I can keep up with my three kids who seem to get faster with every passing day. We live in such an active part of the country that it seems natural to do everything I can to ski faster, chase my kids farther, and hike to new heights. See you Jacked in the Box!!

Manuel Trujillo - Co-Owner & Coach

Manuel Trujillo has been a part for the Crossfit Loveland family going on four years. The community and team in addition with the competitive nature made him feel right at home. Having an athletic background growing up and playing College football at Adams State, Manuel always had a strong desire to share his athletic and strength experience with any and everyone. He played football, wrestled, and ran track all 4 years in high school, receiving all state athletic honors while also receiving Male athlete of the year at his High School.

He has been a coach here at Loveland for just short of three years and has enjoyed digging through the latest information on anything related to health, nutrition, and exercise. He received his Crossfit level one certification and as head coach and head of programming currently working on many more certs including his CF level 2.

Ever since his younger days, manuel always had a strong desire to help individuals and athletes achieve their goals. Once given the opportunity to live out his dream, he hopes to take it and run with it, implementing his own ideas and beliefs for creating strong, healthy, functional athletes. It's never been about aesthetics but more about making people the best version of themselves.

While he is not coaching his favorite athletes at CFL, he spends his off time creating memories with friends going camping, fishing, hiking, professional sport games, and of course eating at all the local diners. He is a proud father of his 6 year old pit bull Koda, and an amazing uncles to his dog niece Mila and dog nephew Rufus. Also, serves as a great role model to all the toddlers at the gym and has been identified by some as "Uncle Manny".
